Qualifications
Candidates need to fulfill the following prerequisites:
- Candidates of all sexes, ages, and nationalities are eligible to apply.
- Candidates need to possess one of the following:Under earlier standards, an Italian “Laurea Magistrale” (Master’s Degree) or its equivalent
- Italian AFAM (Artistic and Musical Higher Education) Institute second-level degree
- a foreign master’s degree that is comparable and grants admission to a PhD program in the country of issue (subject to appropriateness screening).
- Preferred graduation fields include international relations, economics, law, political science, sociology, history, and allied fields.
- Candidates may apply conditionally if they plan to graduate by August 29, 2025; nevertheless, they will need to provide proof of degree by September 12, 2025.
- Candidates are required to submit the required supporting documentation.
- Only if the fields are different can applicants with prior PhDs apply; nevertheless, they are not eligible for a scholarship if they have already been awarded one.
- A list of qualifications that are disqualified will be made available online.
- C1 level of English proficiency:
- IELTS Academic Test: A total score of seven or higher
- A minimum grade of BC is required for Cambridge C1 Advanced (previously CAE) and Cambridge C2 Proficiency (formerly CPE).
- TOEFL iBT: 95 is the minimum score.
- Academic Pearson Test of English (PTE): 75 is the minimum score.

Procedure for Selection
