Eligibility:
- Scholars conducting research that makes substantial use of the Alexander Turnbull Library’s holdings are eligible to apply for the Friends of the Turnbull Library Research Grant.
- The award is open to scholars working on projects that use the library’s resources, such as books, manuscripts, maps, and pictures, and applicants are not need to be citizens of New Zealand. Usually, the grant will not be given for university-level research.
How to apply:
- Scholars must submit the filled-out application form, which includes a distribution plan, a synopsis of the research project, and an explanation of how the study fits with the goals of the Friends of the Turnbull Library Research Grant.
- A curriculum vitae, information about alternative funding sources, and referee details are also required of applicants.
- Once the deadline is set in mid-2025, the grant application session for 2026 will begin.
- The decision will be communicated to candidates by November 30, 2024, following the evaluation of their applications.
