Scholarship for Research Masters at the University of Waikato, 2025
The 2025 University of Waikato Research Masters Scholarship is available to students pursuing master’s degrees in the university’s subject areas. Your application must be submitted before October 31, 2025. The University of Waikato is offering this scholarship, which has a partial funding value of up to NZD 15,000. All nationals are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria of Scholarship for Research Masters:
This scholarship requires the following qualification:
- be enrolled full-time in their first master’s program or plan to enroll full-time, with a thesis worth 90 or 120 points (593 or 594).
- I’ve been in touch with a possible University of Waikato thesis supervisor.
- Be one of the following:
- New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or bearer of a resident visa
- Permanent resident or Australian citizen residing in New Zealand
- By the application deadline, an international student who has earned (or plans to earn) 120 points at a New Zealand institution
- may have begun working on their thesis; the amount of their stipend will depend on how much time they have left.
- Although they will get a smaller scholarship value, part-time applicants are still eligible.
