The application for Seoul National University Graduate Scholarships and Admissions will open soon. Students interested in studying at this university should plan to apply for the university’s different scholarships.

International students will be able to apply online for graduate admission at Seoul National University. Seoul National University is well-known around the world for producing excellent leaders and academics in their professions, as well as for its unique curriculum. Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS):

Benefits:

  • Full tuition exemption is available for up to four semesters of study.
  • Monthly living expenses: 500,000 KRW (varies based on recipients’ majors)
  • Application Period: During each semester’s international admissions period

Eligibilities:

  • Students from Asian nations who want to enroll in one of the approved graduate programs, with the exception of citizens of China and Japan
  • The programs that qualify for this scholarship may vary depending on the nationality of the applicants. Every semester, the list of eligible programs is released.
  • The approximate number of recipients is twenty.

Silk Road Scholarship:

Benefits:

  • Full waiver of tuition fees is available for a maximum of four semesters.
  • Living expenses: for four semesters, a maximum of 600,000 KRW per monthMaximum airfare for one economy round-trip ticket is one million KRW.
  • Fee waiver for Korean language instruction at the Language Education Institute
  • Application Period: Every Fall semester, during the international admissions period

Eligibilities:

  • Candidates wishing to study social sciences or humanities, such as Korean language, history, culture, politics, and economics, should come from the “Silk-Road” region.
  • Recipients: Approximately five recent graduate students

Overseas Koreans Scholarship:

Benefits:

  • For up to four semesters, there is complete tuition exemption (when conditions are met)
  • Monthly living expenses: 900,000 KRW four semesters at most
  • One round-trip economy ticket
  • Fee waiver for six months at the Language Education Institute for Korean language instruction
  • Subscription health insurance (private company)
  • Application Time Frame: February or March (the recruitment period lasts approximately one month once a year)

Eligibilities:

  • Korean nationals studying abroad who want to attend SNU for graduate school

Admissions Requirements

  • Not be citizens of Korea.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree or above for master’s or combined master’s and doctoral degrees.
  • PhD: possess a degree equivalent to a master’s
  • The applicant must provide official documentation of their renunciation of Korean nationality, such as a Certificate of Renunciation of Korean Citizenship, Korean Residence Registration as a Foreigner, etc., if they hold foreign citizenship over Korean nationality OR if they have canceled their Korean citizenship from dual (Korean and foreign) nationality.
  • Provide documentation attesting to your language skills in either English or Korean. The College of Business Administration requires applicants to demonstrate their proficiency in Korean at TOPIK level 6.

  • Two recommendation letters
  • Personal statement
  • A copy of the applicant’s valid passport
  • Academics transcripts and diploma
  • nationality certificate of applicants and parents
  • Proof of Language skills (TOEFL 80, TOPIC 3 )

Note: College of art needs to provide portfolio and pledge as well.
