The Netherlands’ NIAS Safe Haven Fellowship

Applications for the Safe Haven Fellowship in the Netherlands are being accepted by NIAS. A great chance for scientists, academics, journalists, authors, and artists is this fully paid fellowship program. For researchers who are in danger and have trouble working on their projects, NIAS provides a forum. This worldwide scholarship will allow scholars to move temporarily so they can conduct uninterrupted autonomous research initiatives. The fellowship will last from September 2026 to January 2027, a period of five months. The international researcher fellowship program will be place in Amsterdam, a city known for its rich cultural heritage, many museums, dining options, and festivals. With people from a wide range of nations and ethnic backgrounds, this will be an intriguing place.

The fully funded program in Europe will include financial support in the form of grants and stipends for covering traveling and other living expenses. Fellows will get a chance to participate in creative writing workshop and weekly academic seminars. They will have lively conversations with each other over the lunch which will be provided 4 days a week. The 5 month fellowship program in Europe will provide participants an opportunity to organise public events, cultural and social activities, and a professional workshop. Many research facilities, such as an office with a laptop, phone, printer, and internet connection, as well as discounted housing, will be provided to fellows during the fellowship program in 2026. They will be able to use the library’s services to obtain the necessary academic resources. As official partners of this worldwide fellowship program, NIAS has partnered with two esteemed universities: Maastricht University and the University of Amsterdam. When giving out the fellowships, the institute aims to keep gender, career stage, and discipline balance.
