Description of Opportunity
The University of Toronto Scholars-at-Risk Fellowship, which is provided in partnership with Massey College and the School of Graduate Studies, offers crucial assistance to qualified graduate students who have encountered or are currently experiencing threats to their academic endeavors because of political climates or their status as refugees or asylum seekers. The goals of this fellowship are to support cultural diversity, community involvement, and academic performance among University of Toronto students.

Eligibility Criteria
All candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be current or incoming full-time master’s or doctoral students at the University of Toronto.
- They should have been asylum/refugee seekers within the last five years or have been impacted by changing political environments in their country of current or future study.
- Demonstrated academic excellence as evidenced by transcripts and research potential.
- Financial need is demonstrated through a financial need assessment form.
- Commitment to enhancing the student experience through community involvement.
Benefits and Financial Aids
Fellows will benefit from the Scholars-at-Risk Fellowship as follows:
- Recipients can receive up to $10,000 for one year.
- Fellowship holders will be granted the status of Scholar-at-Risk at Massey College, University of Toronto.
- Membership fee waiver for Massey College.

signed and completed application. A two-page personal statement of intent is the maximum. transcripts from all universities and colleges. curriculum vitae. A copy of the admissions offer letter from the University of Toronto, if appropriate. Evidence of asylum or refugee status. Different supporting documents (passport, immigration paperwork, etc.) based on the specifics of each case. SGS Financial Need Assessment Form completed. One private letter of recommendation, no more than two pages
Procedure for Selection
The specifics of the choice procedure:
via the deadline, applications must be sent via email as a PDF file. Applications that are not timely or full will not be accepted. The evaluation of applicants will take into account their eligibility, demonstrated financial need, scholastic record, and level of community involvement.
