Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand’s Tongarewa Scholarship for International Students in 2026:
To demonstrate its dedication to its international student body, Victoria University of Wellington grants a variety of scholarships known as the “Tongarewa Scholarship” to deserving international students annually. The scholarships, which are partially fee-based, pay for students’ tuition costs for the first year of an undergraduate or graduate program.
Academic proficiency is the main objective of a competitive scholarship application procedure. The scholarships will be subtracted from tuition costs and are valid for the academic year after the application. The Tongarewa Scholarship’s advantages

Qualifications for the Tongarewa Scholarship
- Applications are accepted from international students who are fully enrolled in classes and whose expenses are paid by the scholarship.
- First-time university students should be starting a degree program.

- attended a school in New Zealand to finish their secondary education.
- completed the Foundation Studies or English Proficiency Program.

- They are enrolled in the same degree at Victoria University of Wellington and are in their second year of study.
