Duties and Responsibilities

Functions and responsibilities:

The Communication and Resource Mobilization Assistant will have the purpose of providing support in the management of communication and resource mobilization of UNFPA Argentina under the supervision of the Communication and Resource Mobilization Officer of UNFPA Argentina.

Among its functions are assisting in:

  • The positioning of UNFPA Argentina as the United Nations office that works for sexual and reproductive rights and the end of gender-based violence.
  • Strengthening the public agenda of sexual and reproductive rights and the prevention of gender-based violence.
  • Raise awareness and inform the population and specific audiences about sexual and reproductive rights and gender-based violence.
  • In establishing possible alliances with other organizations that contribute to the visibility objectives of the Office.
  • Deepening the mandate of UNFPA Argentina through the resource mobilization and partnership strategy.
  • In establishing possible alliances with the private sector and international organizations that contribute to the objectives of the resource mobilization strategy.
  1. Main activities:

The main activity of the assistant in communication and resource mobilization will be to accompany, support and provide technical assistance to the area of ​​communication and resource mobilization, especially considering the implementation of the Country Program 2022-2025.

This includes activities such as:

  • Articulation with the administration and finance area to ensure the correct financial and budget execution of the communication and resource mobilization area.
  • Support in contact and daily management with the media focused on the monitoring and publication of notes, based on office activities and current issues.
  • Support in monitoring the production of content for the office’s social networks and daily management of the content that is disseminated there.
  • Support in monitoring communication campaigns of UNFPA Argentina and counterparts.
  • Assistance in organizing workshops for journalists and other office visibility activities.
  •  Provide support in monitoring the resource mobilization strategy, in particular monitoring agreements and reporting to partners, projects and donors.
  • Support in the development of training and/or other activities carried out within the framework of the alliance with potential donors.

Required Skills and Experience

Professional profile

  • Completed secondary school or bachelor’s degree in social communication, marketing, international relations, advertising, journalism or related fields.
  • At least 4 years of work experience in supporting and accompanying the design and implementation of a communication strategy and/or mobilization of resources for social purposes. Experience in the field of sexual and reproductive rights, comprehensive sexual education, gender violence, youth and the populations most left behind will be valued. Completed high school in combination with three additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of a college degree.
  • History of work in civil society organizations and/or with agencies, funds or programs of the United Nations System will be valued.
  • English language management.
  • Availability to travel.
