About NGO-Community Engagement Manager

The Community Engagement Manager directs programs that make use of the strength of welcoming communities to aid in the effective integration of refugees, asylees, and other immigrants. They work together with IRC employees to identify needs, plan community outreach, create fruitful connections, and link clients with neighborhood resources. The Development Director of New York and New Jersey oversees the Community Engagement Manager, who supports the New Jersey office.

Required Qualifications of NGO-Community Engagement Manager

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of related professional experience.
  • Prior professional experience in community development or volunteer coordination is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated record of cultivating successful relationships with community partners.
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Ability to lead in a way that recognizes that IRC’s work is best accomplished through the true collaboration of individuals from many cultures with a great variety of skills and perspectives.

languages:

Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
