About NGO Jobs in Sudan-Security Officer South Sudan

  • Implement NRC’s safety and security guidelines at the field and Juba levels.
  • NRC safety and security rules, procedures, and laws are monitored and evaluated in the field.
  • To determine your needs for safety and security, do frequent security and risk assessments.
  • Provide regular briefings and updates and safety and security training for staff
  • All violations of safety and security protocols, threats to NRC employees, beneficiaries, activities, or assets, and occurrences, including close calls, must be reported right away.
  • Facilitate staff egress in case of emergency
  • Assist SA in incident management as and when required.
  • Communicate with local governments, NGOs, UN agencies, and other outside parties to gather security information.
  • Make ensuring that employee and vehicle movements are tracked in accordance with procedures and that the required safety and security equipment is available and in working order.
  • Prepare reports, mission plans, rapid SRAs, and security updates as necessary.
  • Track staff movement and conduct regular check-ins

Responsibilities:

  • Keep track of every move made by the mobile team, and monitor it.
  • Before any deployment, make sure that all mobile emergency teams are fully outfitted with radio phones, first aid equipment, etc.
  • Maintain an incident journal for the area of operation and regularly provide safety and security updates to PO/TL/PC/PM/AM.
  • ensuring the safety of deployed workers by checking in on them daily.
  • Create and manage a contact list for stakeholders, and help the teams in their negotiations and talks with them regarding access and other issues.
  • Before any deployment, conduct security briefings for the whole Emergency staff.
  • Determine the emergency mobile teams’ training needs and provide it.
    When necessary, assist the department of health and security.
  • When necessary, assist the emergency mobile teams in carrying out their tasks.
  • Make sure you have enough first aid kit supplies on hand and refresh them as needed.
  • Take the initiative in negotiations with stakeholders over access.
  • Follow up on clearance letters from the JVMM and RRC.
  • When necessary, assist the team in creating security incident reports.

NGO Jobs in Sudan-Security Officer South Sudan Requirments

  • Experience from working as a Security Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own skills/profile
  • Participated in Safety and Security related trainings/workshops.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of other local languages is a plus.
