About NGO Jobs in Uganda-Regional Grants & Partnerships Coordinator

Through play-based learning, PlayMatters, a $100 million investment led by the IRC, seeks to redefine childhood for 800,000 kids in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda. The project, which is currently in its second year, aims to redefine education and raise a new generation of lifelong learners. The LEGO Foundation’s appeal to disrupt the status quo and provide kids with the high-quality education they deserve serves as the inspiration for PlayMatters. A diverse group with a history of thinking and acting differently is delivering PlayMatters. Our three distinctive qualities are as follows:

1. OUTCOMES

The social, emotional, cognitive, physical, creative, and resilience outcomes we pursue serve as the driving force behind everything we do. We are aware that learning occurs when children are at the center of instruction, parents, educators, and the systems that support them value children’s agency, and are motivated to effect change in addition to possessing the necessary knowledge and tools.

2. RESEARCH AND LEARNING.

Rigor and a big heart are both necessary for effective delivery. With the help of the LEGO Foundation, PlayMatters will provide scientific data that could revolutionize how we think about play and education for refugees in East Africa and other parts of the world.

3. THOUGHT LEADERSHIP.

The Humanitarian Initiative of the LEGO Foundation presents a chance to help and carries the burden of leadership. Members of our consortium have a history of inspiring others to action.
