About UN Jobs in Italy-Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator (Community Engagement in Anticipatory Action) will work under the direct supervision of the Emergency and Rehabilitation Officer (Anticipatory Action), OER, with close collaboration with the Information and Knowledge Management Officer (KORE), OER, under technical oversight of the Programme and Results Team Leader, OER.

Under the framework of the project Collecting emerging and good practices to improve Community Participation in Anticipatory Action, assist in the coordination and delivery of key outcomes relevant to community engagement in anticipatory action.

Oversee the coordination of the project Capturing emerging and good practices to improve Community Engagement in Anticipatory Action, including engagement with FAO Country Offices involved in the project, other relevant FAO teams at regional and HQ levels, as well as external subject matter experts and stakeholders. This includes the set up and coordination of a technical advisory group designed for the purpose of this project;
•    Monitor and adjust as necessary the project’s work plan and budget, and ensure timely and systematic internal information and knowledge management;
•    Ensure timely implementation of project activities and delivery of products by convening and hosting regular meetings with relevant HQ-based technical teams and decentralized offices;
•    Support the finalization and publication of a compendium of good and promising Community Engagement practices;
•    Support the development of a manual on Community Engagement in AA that will provide easy-to-apply and customizable guidance on Community Engagement throughout the AA programme cycle;
•    Support the piloting/field testing and subsequent finalization of the manual on Community Engagement in AA in pilot countries; and provide support to the organization of field research work;
•    Support the development and roll out of training, learning and e.learning modules on community engagement in AA – including supporting field training and learning processes;
•    Oversee the finalization process (technical review, clearance, translation, editing and publication) of all above products and coordinate their promotion/dissemination to relevant FAO and external audiences/users;
•    Support other tasks related to the project, or other tasks related to community engagement in AA, upon demand;
•    Conduct country support missions upon demand and coordinate missions from other team members (AA and KORE) in order to ensure alignment of support to project delivery as well as synergies with OER activities.

UN Jobs in Italy-Project Coordinator Requirments

Education:

  •   University degree in Agriculture, Food Security, Economics, Natural Resources Management, Rural Development, International Relations, Social/political Sciences, or related fields;

Experience:

  • having worked with local and international NGOs, governments, funders, and UN agencies for at least five years (Category B) in emergency programming for the humanitarian, agricultural, and food security sectors, with a focus on anticipatory action and/or community participation;

Languages:

  • working knowledge of the English language (level C) and limited knowledge of one of the other Organizational languages (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) (level B); working knowledge (level C) of English for PSA.
