About UN Jobs in Pakistan-HR Senior Assistant

The HR Senior Assistant is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the timely processing, recording, completion, monitoring, and maintaining of transactions and processes covering the variety of Human Resources Management service lines in accordance with UNOPS’ HR rules, regulations, and policies. The HR Senior Assistant reports directly to the WHO HR Services Project Manager, is overseen overall by the Head of Support Services, as well as receiving technical direction from IPAS HR. In answering inquiries about routine and standard processes and procedures and providing direction and information on HR initiatives and services to a variety of UNOPS clients, s/he may serve as the initial point of contact for internal and external clients.

Responsibilities:

support for the formulation and application of policy

  • By assisting in the data collection on trends, risks, and opportunities as well as sharing regional HR best practices, you can support the creation of HR policies and corporate HR initiatives.

Consultative Services

  • Staff members should get advice and direction on administrative practices, policies, and procedures for delivering HR services.
  • serve as the unit’s point of contact with internal and external clients, offer proactive customer service to hasten project completion, and disseminate information.
  • Makes that partner-managed people (PMP) are using HR policies and processes for contract management, benefits administration, and travel-related issues.
  • Ensure that new hires have completed all in-processing paperwork and that their first impressions are favorable as an HR interlocutor.
  • Advise hiring managers and coach personnel on routine parts of UNOPS recruitment and performance management processes, and learning and development activities, resources, and strategies.

Administration and Talent Acquisition

  • Assist in the completion of the hiring process, including offers and rejections, and updating the online data systems for hiring in accordance with UNOPS policy.
  • performs reference checks, longlisting components, and testing and interview planning; calculates fees, records general-service recruitment meetings, makes final selections, and approves all other process steps.
  • Inform and counsel UNOPS employees, consultants, partners, and project staff on routine facets and components of their terms of service and entitlements in accordance with their contract modality, facilitating measures to support their effective, prompt, and client-focused onboarding.
  • Investigate precedents and make recommendations to the supervisor while taking institutionalized exceptions into consideration.
  • do research on a variety of HR-related issues and help with note- or report-making.
  • Maintain monitoring systems and inform the supervisor of any pending requests and deadlines.
  • To guarantee that absence requests, the performance management cycle, and other HR activities, among others, in electronic information systems are completed, provide answers to queries and follow up with staff and management.
  • Communicate with the appropriate HQ and UN system units to share information and monitor open issues.

Education:

  • Secondary schooling must be completed.
  • It would be ideal to have a first university degree in human resources management, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Highly desirable is knowledge of UN policies, processes, and practices.

Experience:

  • a minimum of five years of relevant experience in providing HR consultancy, recruitment, and/or generalist HR services in a national or multinational organization.
  • It is highly desirable to have computer and web application proficiency.
  • An understanding of UN system organizations is preferred.
  • It would be ideal to have prior experience using enterprise systems and HR information systems.

Languages:

  • The ability to speak and write English fluently is necessary.
