About UN Jobs in Pakistan-Protection Case Management Associate

The Multi-Country Office, Branch Office, or Field Office are the common locations for the Protection Case Management (PCM) Associate. He or she is a member of the Protection Section but may be employed by the Registration, Refugee Status Determination, or Resettlement units. In most cases, the head of the functional unit (Registration, RSD, or Resettlement) where s/he is currently providing support supervises him or her on a rotating basis. To ensure the effective application of operational policies and conformity with the applied comprehensive protection and solutions strategy, s/he is responsible for supporting actions related to registration, refugee status determination, and resettlement.

The incumbent could manage the UNHCR mandate registration procedure on a daily basis. He or she will conduct registration, RSD, resettlement, or other protection interviews and draft various documents, such as evaluations for determining refugee status, referrals for resettlement, and other documentation pertaining to protection. Also, he or she might be in contact with outside partners to discuss resettlement-related matters. He or she might be in charge of training new caseworkers, depending on the operational requirements.

Each employee of the UNHCR is responsible for carrying out the tasks outlined in their job description. They act in accordance with the UNHCR’s regulatory framework, which includes the UN Charter, the UN Staff Regulations and Rules, the UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions, as well as any applicable accountability frameworks, and within their scope of authority. Also, employees must carry out their duties in a way that is compatible with the fundamental, functional, cross-functional, and managerial skills as well as the key values of the UNHCR, which include professionalism, integrity, and respect for diversity.

Education:

Experience:

  • Capacity to interview, analyze, and report on the beneficiaries’ circumstances. analytical and research abilities. excellent communication skills both in writing and speaking.
  • working knowledge of the rules and ideas surrounding registration, resettlement, and RSD. prior employment in the fields of human rights law and international refugee law. counseling experience with immigrants or asylum seekers. working with people who are vulnerable or traumatized. working knowledge with the UNHCR PRIMES proGres program.

Languages:

  • English proficiency and, if necessary, the UN working language of the duty station are requirements for positions in international professional and field service.
