to make sure that a strong WHO country presence is established in order to carry out country cooperation strategies that are coordinated with the UN country teams and the health development agendas and emergency/resilience programs of Member States.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Coordinate logistical arrangements on procurement, storage and delivery of medicines and medical products.

2. Perform on regular basis needs assessment missions, identify and analyse deficiencies in medicine supply chain at health facilities and fill the gaps along with accurate and complete documentation for all consignments.

3. Secure warehouse management including inventory control and storage conditions according to WHO guidelines on good storage and distribution practises (monitoring product quality and cold chain management, physical inventory and stock records, controlled medicines, waste management, stock rotation and FIFO rules etc).

4. Carry out basic analyses to evaluate the pharmaceutical needs in the designated area, including forecasting and quantification of contingency planning of essential medicines requirements.

5. Review WHO indicators on rational use of drugs and as well as conduct patient exit interviews to gauge patient knowledge and quality of health service delivery.

6. Participate in trainings for public health care staff and implementing partners on national medicines policy, rational use of medicines, good distribution practise, good dispensing practise and supply management.

UN Jobs in Yemen-Logistics Officer Requirments

Education:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Supply chain and logistics.
  • Degree in public health or in clinical pharmacy

Experience:

  • a minimum of one year of related experience, such as managing the logistics of a medical supply system. demonstrated emergency situational experience.
  • experience in emergency management or public health. Experience with NGOs, international organizations, or UN organizations is regarded as advantageous.

Languages:

  • proficiency in English. Expert knowledge of Arabic.
