About UN Jobs-Programme & Budget Assistant
The administrative support units of foreign offices (CSU) were established in the organizational structure for a variety of reasons, including assisting managers and staff members in carrying out their duties fully in the context of the GSM; ensuring compliance with OMS policies, procedures, rules, and regulations in all business dealings and financial and administrative matters (ERP).
Required Qualifications of UN Jobs-Programme & Budget Assistant
Education:
Diploma of completion of secondary education, equivalent technical training, or business education with a focus on accounting, budgeting, or finance
degree or higher education credentials in finance or accounting
Experience:
At least five (05) years of practical experience in the areas of finances, budgeting, and/or accounting activities.
An advantage would be relevant experience in a related position at a United Nations institution, an international organization, or an ONG.
Languages:
French language proficiency (reading, speaking, and writing)
good working knowledge of English (intermediate level)
Skills
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and implement input from several sources; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. To plan and complete tasks with minimum supervision, to create financial analysis reports using the appropriate software, to interpret financial rules and regulations, and to establish and maintain positive working relationships with people from various backgrounds and cultures.
having good computer tool knowledge and the ability to use a wide range of software.
Strong working knowledge of ERP/Oracle systems is essential, as is Excel proficiency. Knowing the relevant modules of the OMS’s Système mondial de gestion (GSM) would be helpful.
