The Ecosystems Division of UNEP collaborates with international and domestic partners to strengthen the environmental management capabilities of developing nations and nations undergoing economic transition by offering technical assistance and advisory services for the implementation of environmental policy. The Director of Ecosystems Division’s office at the Nairobi duty station houses this position.
The incumbent will carry out the following tasks under the direct supervision of the Director of the Ecosystems Division, assisted by the Deputy-Director:

UN Jobs-SPECIAL ASSISTANT, ADMINISTRATION Requirments

Education:

  • It is necessary to have a master’s degree or higher from an advanced university in the social or natural sciences, business or public administration, management, economics, or a related discipline.
  • The advanced university degree may be substituted with a first-level university degree and two (2) more years of acceptable work experience.
  • It would be ideal to successfully complete both degree-granting and non-degree data analytics, business analytics, or data science programs.

Experience:

  • It would be ideal to successfully complete both degree-granting and non-degree data analytics, business analytics, or data science programs.
  • It would be ideal to successfully complete both degree-granting and non-degree data analytics, business analytics, or data science programs.
  • It is necessary to have at least seven (7) years of professional working experience, with two (2) of those years being spent abroad and preferably working on projects connected to environmental or sustainable development.

Languages:

  • The working languages of the United Nations Secretariat are English and French. English fluency is needed for this employment. It is ideal to have some working knowledge of another UN official tongue.
